AVNA wins 2011 National Elite Award
The Alliance Visiting Nurse Association, a department of Alliance Community Hospital, has been listed in the top 25% of U.S. home care providers by the OCS HomeCare and DecisionHealth.
AVNA was announced as a recipient at the annual National Association for Home Care (NAHC) conference in Las Vegas, along with other top-rated health care facilities across the country.
In the six years this award has been in existence, this is the third time AVNA has been a recipient.
OCS HomeCare determines the award recipients by using publicly-available information from the Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services’ (CMS) cost reports and Home Health Compare data.
The award is based on quality of care, process measure implementation, and financial performance. The top 25% home care providers are determined, as are the top 500 and 100 health care providers in the nation.
“We are extremely excited and proud of this award,” said Nancy Beck, RN, Director of AVNA. “Today’s Health care environment makes everyone take a very close look at quality, best practices and how to provide this care while dealing with continued governmental reductions in reimbursement to health care facilities.”
“This award is a testament to our excellent care, dedication to the community, and teamwork,” Beck said.
The AVNA is a provider of home health care for patients who are ill, disabled, or recovering from a hospital stay. This care includes comprehensive therapy services and specialized clinical nursing programs, which are provided in the comfort of a patient’s own home.
