AVNA Receives Donation
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Alliance CommunityHospital's Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice was one of five area non-profit agencies to be honored today at brunch in the AllianceSeniorCenter onVine Street.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Jerry Romary, outgoing President of the Mayor's Commission on Aging presented each of the following non-profit organizations a check for $500, to be used for 2008 programs and services benefitting area seniors. The recipients were:
-Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice
-Salvation Army (Alliance chapter)
-Alliance Department of Health
-Alliance of Churches
-Feed My Sheep
â€œThis is something we do each year for these non-profit organizations that are so instrumental in helping to care for area seniors by providing meals, medicines and many other services to them,â€ said Romary, noting that money for the five checks was raised through expos held at the SeniorCenter in spring and fall.
AVNA Social Worker Jayne DeCourt accepted the check designated for the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice.
