Alliance Community Hospital to Host 8th Annual Charity Golf Classic

On Monday, June 25, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AllianceCommunityHospital will be hosting the 8th Annual Charity Golf Classic at Alliance Country Club.

Shotgun start is at noon. The team scramble event includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, dinner, giveaways, the opportunity to win various prizes, plus eligibility for a number of drawings.

 

Entry fee is $175 per person or $700 per team. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for the event. Levels include “Title Sponsor†(a gift of $1,500 and above) and “Hole Sponsor†(gift of $400).

 

All proceeds will benefit the Alliance Family YMCA, the AllianceNeighborhoodCenter and the Stark County Interagency Council on Homelessness, this year's “goodwill neighbor designees.â€

 

Financial contributions from the event give the Alliance Family YMCA assistance to approximately 700 youth who actively participate in the organization's numerous programs.  Past funds have helped to provide licensed child care, a city-wide learn to swim program, youth memberships, and youth programs, such as basketball, football, t-ball, soccer and summer day camp.

 

The funding received from the Charity Golf Classic has been instrumental in meeting the mission of the AllianceNeighborhoodCenter – to support a professional environment for the efficient and effective delivery of services to families and children in need of help. Currently there are eight non-profit agencies located in the Center, serving 25,000 requests annually for assistance.

 

The Stark County Interagency Council on Homelessness is a new designee this year.  The mission of the Stark County Interagency Council on Homelessness is to develop and implement strategies and solutions to address the problem of homelessness throughout StarkCounty, including the development of supportive housing options and the securing of federal, state and local resources.  The Council's mission also includes developing measures to prevent and end chronic homelessness, insure a coordinated safety net of emergency services for those in a short-term housing crisis, and coordinate and consolidate local efforts to provide a cost-effective and streamlined system for addressing homelessness. 

 

Members of the Council include representatives of service providers for the homeless, the courts, law enforcement, city and county government, hospitals,

United Way
, Mental Health Board, Regional Planning Commission, Stark County Jobs & Family Services, Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, foundations and community volunteers.

S.C.I.C.H. addresses the issue of homelessness in our community in the most effective manner by engaging all those entities who are involved with the homeless. 

 

Deadline for registration is Friday, May 18.
