ACH To Hold Samblanet Blood Drive
Lee Samblanet was a young man full of vision, a zest for living and a passion to serve others.

On July 2, Lee would have celebrated his 27th birthday. After a battle with primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) that spanned eight years, Lee's battle ended.
“We know the reason that Lee was with us as long as he was is because of the hundreds of individuals who “carried†him through with their continual donations of blood and blood products. We don't take for granted the gift of life they gave Lee,†shares his mother, Brenda Samblanet.
“This is the reason we are hosting a 2-day blood drive in his honor, July 1st and 2nd at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AllianceCommunityHospital. If there is a way of thanking those donors who gave life to Lee, it is to continue the cycle of giving.â€
The hours for the drive are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1 and 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
on Thursday, July 2.
“We have set our goals high for this drive because that is what Lee would have done. Nothing was impossible for him, and that is the legacy that we want to carry on.â€
Making a donation takes approximately an hour. Pre-registration is suggested as donors move through the process at a more efficient rate. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh no less than 110 pounds and be able to provide a photo ID or their donor card.
“Our first drive in Lee's honor was held last year, and we were so overwhelmed by the response and love of our community. If we had not felt it before, we saw first-hand the number of lives Lee had indeed impacted. It is our wish to continue the effect he will have on countless others through these blood drives.â€
Individuals wishing to make a donation can contact the Samblanet family at 330-525-7397.
