ACH To Hold Day Before Christmas Blood Drive
Forget the crowded stores! If you are still searching for that “perfect†gift, you will have the opportunity to provide it to that someone “special†on Wednesday, December 22.

What might that gift be? Actually it is the best gift anyone could receive – the gift of life. We are inviting area residents to participate in a day-before-Christmas blood drive at the Alliance American Legion, hosted by <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AllianceCommunityHospital.
The blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with walk-in donors welcome anytime during those hours. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh no less than 110 pounds and be able to provide a picture ID at the time of the drive.
“Searching for gifts can become overwhelming in many ways. But when you consider that one productive unit of blood has the potential of helping three individuals, the hour spent making the donation is truly priceless! We encourage everyone to take that hour out of their day to visit the blood drive in order to provide someone with the gift of live,†Marcy Todd, Volunteer Coordinator at AllianceCommunityHospital and blood drive committee member, said.
“We have had a wonderful response from area businesses with donations of gift certificates and coupons which all donors will have a chance to win through a random drawing. If we have the same response from our community donors, we will reach our goal of 44 productive units. Or, to put it another way, we will be able to help as many as 132 “special†individuals who desperately need blood or blood products.â€
During this season of giving, what makes more sense than giving another the gift of life?
