The Alliance Community Hospital Foundation recently held a weeklong holiday celebration honoring its staff, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />U.S. military representatives and needy children in the area.
During the week of December 14th ACH employees were encouraged to participate in different activities everyday in effort to celebrate the Christmas season by way of receiving AND giving.
· On Monday colleagues were asked to send Christmas Cards to residents in the hospital's CommunityCareCenter and as a result, over 500 holiday greetings cheered the residents who received them.
· On Tuesday the Foundation sponsored a coffee and hot cocoa bar at which employees received a free beverage.
· On Wednesday hand massages were offered to employees through the hospital's Volunteer Services Department, in order to help colleagues unwind from pre-holiday stress.
· On Thursday ACH employees were asked to show their support of U.S. military personnel by wearing red, white, and blue and sending at least one service man or woman an electronic thank-you card via the website www.letssaythanks.com.
· On Friday, ACH wrapped its "Toys for Tots" campaign by having members of the U.S. Marine Corps League collect the toys that had been donated by hospital employees. Those 200-plus toys were then donated to needy boys and girls in the Stark County area.
“ACH is proud to give back to the community we are so privileged to serve,†said Jessica Bloss, ACH Foundation Specialist.
