ACH colleagues honored at ceremony
More than 150 colleagues of Alliance Community Hospital were recognized for their years of service and special recognition went to several recipients at the hospital's annual recognition ceremony held recently.
Five-year incremental awards were distributed highlighted by four colleagues with 40 or more years of service. Forty-year award winners were Deborah Anweiler in Laboratory and Renee Thomas in Patient Access. Two colleagues with 45 years of service who were honored were Alberta Ward in Surgery and Sheryl Ziegler in Patient Financial Services.

The ceremony also focused on a number of Planetree Awards. Planetree is a designation given to a limited number of hospitals for their special emphasis on patient-centered care. Alliance Community Hospital is the only Planetree Hospital in the state of Ohio.
Planetree Award winners were: Patient/Resident Education and Community Access to Information Award, Karen Campf; Nutrition and Nurturing Aspects of Food Award, Louise Roth, Parthena Stamatelopoulos, Dawn Wagner, Renee Bender and Heather Graham; Healthy Communities Award, Missy Miller; Planetree Story Award, Dr. Brian Briggs and Senior Care Staff; Caregiver Award, Aimee Petras; Physician Champion Award, Dr. Debra Lehrer; Therapy Animal Award, Bentley and Willie Lemmon; Quality/Safety Award, Joan Thomas; Healthy Environment Award, Debra Kempthorne; Spiritual Care and Diversity Award, Elisabeth Stokes.
A special award, the Spirit of Planetree Award, was presented to Hospital CEO Stan Jonas for his exemplary commitment to the Planetree philosophy.
