ACH Blood Drive Honors Colleagues
On Thursday, October 9th, the American Red Cross and the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AllianceCommunityHospital will host a blood drive honoring hospital colleagues and their families who are currently receiving treatments for serious or life-threatening diseases. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
“As colleagues, we support each other in the good times and the bad. Currently we have some colleagues who are receiving blood transfusions on a regular basis. As a medical facility, blood transfusions are a normal occurrence, and we are all keenly aware of the vital role they play in the treatment of certain diseases. Therefore, donating in honor of our “caregivers†allows all of us, hospital colleagues and the community, to show how much these special individuals mean to us,†said Marcy Todd, volunteer coordinator.
The hours for the blood drive are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in conference room 1-A of the hospital. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh no less than 110 pounds and be in good health the day of the donation. Each donor is also required to produce a picture ID or their donor card.
The Business Express sponsor for the drive is the Executive Management team of the hospital who will be offering a gas card for the donor drawing. Several other items will also be offered in the drawing.
“Our community depends on our hospital to provide compassionate care for their loved ones. We are now asking not only our colleagues, but the community, to join us as we provide the gift of life to our fellow colleagues and their families,†she said.
Alliance Community Hospital wishes to express deep gratitude to faithful sponsor Brandon's Iron Steakhouse, for their continued support of ACH/Red Cross blood drives.
