ACH Auxiliary Hosting Memory Tree of Lights fundraiser
The ACH Auxiliary will host its annual Memory Tree of Lights event on Sunday, December 8th at 2 p.m. in the hospital café (200 East State Street). The purpose of this fundraiser is to help family and friends remember loved ones through donations made to the Auxiliary. The Memory Tree of Lights committee is currently selling bulbs in honor or in memory of loved ones. A Christmas tree will be placed in the hospital lobby and decorated with a silver bulb for a $10 donation and a gold bulb for a $20 donation. It, along with a scroll, will contain the names of those memorialized and honored. Donations can be sent to Alliance Community Hospital Volunteer Office at 200 East State Street by November 15th.
Sue DeHoff will be the featured speaker, with music by Diana Cullen and Herb Oyster. Those whose names have been placed on the bulbs and scroll will be read, as well as the local business donors. Refreshments will be served.
The Alliance Community Hospital Auxiliary was established in 1935. The purpose of Auxiliary is to promote, advance, and improve the welfare of Alliance Community Hospital by keeping the best interests of the community in mind.
The Auxiliary was founded by Mrs. Fay Asherman, Mrs, Karl Feigenschuh, Mrs. Harry Roderick, and Mrs. Walter Webb. These women realized there was a need to begin a volunteer group that would furnish important services to the hospital, as well as its staff and patients.
By hosting fundraisers, the Auxiliary is able to give back to ACH in a number of ways. The Auxiliary has made purchases for nearly every department in the hospital in efforts to help increase patient comfort and satisfaction at ACH. Each spring they give three $1,500 scholarships to area students wishing to purse the medical field. Auxiliary funds are also used to pay the salary of the shuttle driver that assists visitors in the parking lot of ACH.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of the ACH Auxiliary is welcome. Dues are $5 a year, and can be paid in the hospital Gift Shop near the lobby.
