2012 Summer Teen Program for High School Students
The Summer Teen Program at Alliance Community Hospital is an opportunity for high school students ages 16 to graduation to volunteer over the summer months during their school break. While volunteering in this program is not an internship or shadow program, it does afford students the unique opportunity to gain non-clinical experience in a hospital setting, while gaining personal satisfaction of helping others. Only students of the summer program will be permitted to volunteer throughout the school calendar year.
The 2012 summer program is running from June 18th through August10th. Ten students were selected to the 2012 program. The students were required to submit an application as well as parental and guidance counselor forms, interview with volunteer services, and attend an orientation. They are asked to commit to a minimum of six hours per week to the program and are assigned to open volunteer positions throughout the hospital.
We are excited to have the opportunity to offer this program and are confident each student will gain valuable and useful knowledge as they continue the journey down the path to their future. For more information about this program, please contact the ACH Volunteer Department at 330-596-7821.
